Ghost is a book about a troubled teen who is trying to outrun his troubled past of anger and abuse. With the help of an olympic medalist track coach, Ghost turns his natural talent of running into an opportunity to break free from his past. I decided to design the cover as a shoebox to show that the opportunity for Ghost to escape his past was in the form of track. Opening that box is Ghost taking advantage of this opportunity.
